PASTOR MCNUTT

PASTOR MCNUTT

Pastor Jasper McNutt was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in June of 1952. He was educated in the St. Louis Public School district and attended University of Missouri at St Louis and Harris Stowe University majoring in accounting and business.

He was honorably discharged after serving nine years active duty in the United States Army holding the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then worked for more than twenty-five years with Laclede Gas Company where he began in the service department and progressed through the ranks to the position of Assistant Superintendent before retirement.

Elder McNutt accepted his call into the ministry in 1985 under the leadership of Pastor B. L. Gregory-Jones. He assisted Pastor Gregory-Jones as an associate minister in whatever assignment he was given, as well as being ready to deliver a Word whenever called upon. He is a dedicated, hard-working person who strives for excellence in whatever he undertakes.

On June 5, 1990, he was ordained as a minister under the leadership of Pastor Tommie Ringo. He still remained a dedicated worker for Laclede Gas while being even more dedicated as a minister. As an assistant pastor of New Mount Gideon-West Full Gospel Baptist Church, Pastor McNutt organized the Young Adult Ministry, the Security Ministry and reinforced the Pastor’s Aid Ministry. Pastor McNutt did not have to be asked to do a job; he pitched in wherever he saw the need, including the janitorial work. Pastor McNutt has also served as State Director of Evangelism in St. Louis under the leadership of Bishop George White, for the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship.

In the year of 2004, Pastor McNutt was called by God to establish, organize and pastor his own church. Temple Christian Fellowship, Inc. was organized as a nonprofit 501(C)(3) non-denominational church with approximately 60 members. He began the process of establishing a brand new church by stepping out on faith, and presently there is a congregation of approximately 100 to 120 members.

This new responsibility of pastoring a church is a labor of love. The Bible says, “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus”. Pastor McNutt has a vision to impact this world by changing the thought pattern of this present generation. Pastor McNutt does not see himself as a hireling, he speaks of himself as being the sheep’s under-shepherd and God’s lead servant. He does not view pastoring as a job, rather a service and one that is rewarding. The ministry is growing and developing as a sound institution in the Bridgeton community.

Pastor McNutt has been married for more than thirty years to Lady Jeanette McNutt  and has one daughter. She is married and is the mother of two boys and one girl. He is both a proud father and grandfather, lovingly called “Pa-Pa”. God truly is the joy and strength of his life.

God said: “Build ME a Church. I will take care of the building”.
